Notes: Blooms
mid season. This perennial bulb forming plant can be distinguished
from other species of Brodiaea at Mather Field by its relatively
tall stature, no constriction above the ovary, and stamenoides
appressed to the stamens. The bulbs are nutty flavored and
nutritious. They are consumed by Botta's Pocket Gophers and were
harvested by Native Americans.
