Pogogyne zizyphoroides 

Family: Lamiaceae (Mint)

Habitat: vernal pools and surrounding grassland

Notes: Endemic to California vernal pools and adjacent grasslands. Much smaller flowered than the related Douglas's Beardstyle (Pogogyne douglasii). Sacramento Beardstyle smells strongly of mint, but does not have the chocolaty overtones of Douglas's Beardstyle.
